Tetrahydrocannabinol, often known as “delta-8 THC,” is a hallucinogenic substance that has been linked to the Cannabis sativa plant. Hemp is a product of the Cannabis sativa plant in addition to marijuana. Despite producing more than a hundred different cannabinoids, including delta-8 THC, the cannabis plant does not do so in especially significant quantities. As a result, cannabidiol obtained from hemp is often used to produce large amounts of delta-8 THC. Consumers should be aware that the FDA has not examined or authorised the use of delta-8 tetrahydrocannabinol in any application. (FDA). FDA Approval
There is no chance that delta 8 brands containing will be sold in a manner that puts the public’s health in jeopardy since they have not been assessed by the FDA and have not been granted permission for use. Between December 1, 2020, and February 28, 2022, customers who used goods containing delta-8 THC reported 104 cases of adverse reactions to the FDA. The FDA is aware of claims that some products containing delta-8 THC may have psychoactive effects. Natural levels of delta 8 brands are minimal in hemp cannabis raw extracts, and the FDA is worried that consumers may be exposed to significantly larger levels of the substance when ingesting delta-8 THC-containing products. As a result, it is impossible to determine the degree of safety of these products when given to people based on the historical usage of cannabis.
