The FDA is aware of claims that some products containing delta-8 THC may have psychoactive effects.  Natural levels of delta 8 brands are minimal in hemp cannabis raw extracts, and the FDA is worried that consumers may be exposed to significantly larger levels of the substance when ingesting delta-8 THC-containing products. As a result, it is impossible to determine the degree of safety of these products when given to people based on the historical usage of cannabis.
